There are four basic Vocations that you’ll be starting with in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and they are:

Each of these classes gives a great indication as to how the more advanced Vocations will perform, so mastering them, or at least getting a feel for them, will be helpful if or when you want to change your Vocation.

For example, if you’re looking to try out the Magick Archer, then starting with an Archer build is incredibly helpful. Or if you want to become a hardened Warrior, then Fighter will be the best for you.

There’s no right or wrong Vocation to choose from, so be don’t afraid to try a smattering of all of them to see what works for you.

After he returns to the Windwaker's Home and the care of his wife, Cliodhna, you'll eventually need to escort him to the Geyser Hamlet so that he can soothe his back. After defeating an assortment of foes, you'll make it to your destination and be confronted by Cliodhna.

Despite her earlier trepidation, she sees that your heart is in the right place, will thank you for helping her husband and will unlock the Magick Archer Vocation for you to master.

The Sorcerer and Warrior Vocations are some of the earliest Vocations you can unlock and come as part of the Vocation Frustration quest. To unlock them, you must bring an Archistaff and a Greatsword to Klaus in the Vernworth Vocation Guild.
