A Dying Light 2 New Game Plus mode has been one of the most heavily requested features from the community since the game's launch back in February, with Techland finally adding it in the recent April update. Dying Light 2 gives players a lot of choices for altering the story and game world, so a replay can net you completely different results. Here's how to enable the Dying Light 2 New Game Plus, along with all the new features it adds.

Dying Light 2 New Game Plus: How To Begin New Game Plus

To begin the New Game Plus mode, you will first have to complete the base game and then select new game in the main menu. From here you should be able to select a completely new game or the NG+ mode. It allows you to keep all progression from the first playthrough, barring the Nightrunner's Tools which are gained in key story moments. This means all skills, items, and weapons you have will be retained, and you will need them as the mode introduces new scaling for enemies, an overall harder difficulty, and some extra bonuses unavailable in the base game.

If you've already discovered all the Dying Light 2 Inhibitor locations, then get ready for a second round, as NG+ adds another thirty for you to find, letting you boost your health and stamina even further than before. The new scaling makes it that all enemies are automatically bumped up to your level, providing a greater challenge right from the get-go.

There are also additional special encounters that are filled with harder enemies, but allow you to gain better rewards. You can also acquire the brand-new legendary weapon added in the update from encounters. Lastly, all the Parkour challenges now have Platinum medals for you to earn, which are based on your previous results.

Aside from the above additions for NG+ mode, there are various bug fixes, technical improvements, and QoL adjustments that have been made across the game.

That's all for our primer on the Dying Light 2 New Game Plus mode, and now you know where to begin your second journey in Villedor, and what kind of things to expect this time around.

We also have a breakdown of all the Dying Light 2 Duck locations so you can discover the DOOM and Star Wars Easter eggs.
