Road to the Knockouts is a community-favourite promo in EA FC 25 Ultimate Team for a reason, and this new set of players definitely continues the tradition of excitement. With a new European format comes changes to the upgrade system too, so make sure you stay up to date with everything here.

All RTTK players

  • Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)
  • Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen)
  • Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)
  • Julien Alvarez (Atletico Madrid)
  • Jeremy Doku (Manchester City)
  • Federico Dimarco (Inter)
  • Noa Lang (PSV)
  • Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig)
  • Stefan Posch (Bologna)
  • Donny van de Beek (Girona)
  • Cristian Romero (Spurs)
  • Robin Koch (Eintracht Frankfurt)
  • Rayan Cherki (Lyon)
  • Stephen Eustaquio (Porto)
  • Moise Kean (Fiorentina)
  • Kadidiatou Diani (Lyon)
  • Claudia Pina (Barcelona)
  • Nathalie Bjorn (Chelsea)

The new upgrade system - which I'll go over shortly - means that very few of the above cards will receive the maximum four upgrades.

This will then lower the price of the majority, while dramatically raising the price of the select few that have a chance to get all three boosts.

This means that cards like Bellingham and Doku will be the most popular, as their respective team's strength gives them a strong chance of finishing in the top two on the table.

RTTK upgrade path explained

As mentioned, there is a new upgrade path for RTTK cards that coincides with the new European format:

Upgrade # Requirement Reward
1 Win 3 League matches +1 Overall
2 Score 1+ goals in 4 different matches +1 Overall & Role++
3 Finish Top 2 in the League 1x PlayStyle+ & Role++

It's a bit unclear right now whether the second upgrade requires the player themselves to score the goal, or whether it's for the team overall - but I'd presume it to be the latter.

As you can see though, only two of the cards in their respective position will be able to earn all three upgrades due to the nature of the new League system. Expect the usual suspects to be near the top - although we could yet see some surprises.

You'll also have to wait a lot longer for these upgrades to arrive, as the League stage now stretches into the new year. Here are the minimum dates that players will be able to receive each upgrade, on the basis that the game already played is counted:

  • Win 3 League matches - October 22-24
  • Score 1+ goals in 4 different matches - November 5-7
  • Finish Top 2 in the League - ~January 29-30

On the flip side, the Women's Champions League hasn't changed its format, so it's likely that that remains similar to past upgrade paths. This should give the cards a greater chance for success, so you might want to consider picking one up!
