Elden Ring Dung Eater Quest: Starting The Quest
You can meet the Dung Eater for the first time after arriving at the Altus Plateau region, where he can be found at the Roundtable Hold, in the room past the Twin Maiden Husks. Speaking to him will result in him threatening to kill and defile you, and you can't begin his quest until you find a Seedbed Curse. There are a total of six of these in the game, with three located in Leyndell, one in the Volcano Manor, and two in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. You only need the one, for the time being, so once it's been collected, return to Dung Eater in the Roundtable Hold to begin the quest.

Elden Ring Dung Eater Quest: Quest Walkthrough
Once you speak to Dung Eater after getting a Seedbed Curse, he will give you the Sewer-Gaol Key and ask you to find his corporal body in the sewers below Leyndell. To find him, from the Underground Roadside Lost Grace, take a left and drop down into the open sewer grate. Carry on following the path past the giant plants and climb the ladder. There will be a giant hand to fight in here, but once it's clear, go to the door at the other end of the room to free Dung Eater. Speak to him until you've exhausted his dialogue and then head back to the Roundtable Hold.
If you go back to the room he was in here, Dung Eater will have left a message for you, asking you to meet him for a fight at the Leyndell outer moat. To find him again, from the Capital Rampart Lost Grace where you first enter Leyndell, go back outside and follow the path down past the giants. Take a left just after and keep travelling down into the shallow water.
There will be a character here you can speak to called Blackguard, and once you have exhausted his dialogue options, reload the area. He will now be tied to a chair, having been defiled by Dung Eater, and once the conversation is over he'll die, and the invasion will be triggered. After defeating Dung Eater, he will return to the Roundtable Hold where you need to speak to him again. He'll ask you to bring his corporal body five Seedbed Curses, which can be found in the Sewer Gaol below Leyndell. After giving him the five Seedbed Curses, Dung Eater will give you the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse which can be used for the Blessing of Despair ending, and his questline will be over.
If you need more direction to find the Seedbed Curses, we'll list how to find each one below.

Elden Ring Dung Eater Quest: Seedbed Curses
As we previously said, there are six Seedbed Curses in total, but you only need five to finish the quest. Some of these are also missable if you progress too far into the story, so don't defeat the Fire Giant and begin the Crumbling Farum Azula dungeon until you've done the quest.
The first Seedbed Curse can be found in Leyndell. From the East Capital Rampart Lost Grace, follow the path across the wall toward the first building. Once inside, go down the stairs and take the elevator down a level. Walk into the building ahead and then climb the ladder on your left. After taking the stairs up you will find a body tied to a chair where you can grab a Seedbed Curse.
Another one can be found in Leyndell, and you should start from the West Capital Rampart Lost Grace. Go out the door and follow the wall until you can drop onto a building on your right side. Drop down and walk toward the big tree trunk where you can climb up onto the stables. From here, you will be able to go into the large building which is an exact replica of the Roundtable Hold. Make your way to the area where Dung Eater is located in the actual hold, and you can find another corpse with a Seedbed Curse.
A third can be found in the Volcano Manor. From the Temple of Eiglay, use the elevator to your right and follow the path ahead and then drop down onto the volcanic rock. Climb up until you come to a tower that you can access through a window. Open the door inside and keep following the path past all the enemies until you come to another door in a room with a long red carpet. Climb the stairs and loop back up another set of stairs so you are on the wooden balcony. Go through the door, and you will come to a fog door that requires a Stonesword Key. Dropdown using the metal cages and you can find the third Seedbed Curse on another dead body.
Two more can be found in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree, which can be accessed from the Consecrated Snowfield. From the Prayer Room Lost Grace follow the path down and keep taking the stairs until you come to a wall with a torch and some white egg sacks. If you jump over the balcony, you'll be able to walk across an arch before jumping onto a platform on your left. Go past the scarab and jump over to another arch, before climbing up to the ledge and following it to the dead body with the Seedbed Curse.
For the next one, start in the Prayer Room again and follow the path until the wall with the torch and egg sacks again. Instead of going onto the arch, drop down to the next level and walk toward the doorway. Before entering, jump over the balcony onto an arch and then drop onto a platform just below. From here, you can go through a doorway and follow a staircase down before getting a second. Drop off the right of this staircase halfway down, and you'll see the fifth Seedbed Curse just ahead.
The sixth Seedbed Curse is a little different as it requires you to finish the Blackguard Big Boggart questline and then take it off his body just before Dung Eater invades you at the Leyndell moat.

Elden Ring Dung Eater Quest: Rewards
Once you have acquired the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse from Dung Eater, if you reload the area, you will be able to claim his armour - the Omen Set. You can also get the Sword of Milos once you defeat him at the Leyndell moat.
That's our walkthrough of how to complete the Elden Ring Dung Eater quest, and now you know how to find the Seedbed Curses so you get the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse for the alternate ending.
