The Elden Ring Sacred Tears are vital for progressing through the game as they allow you to increase the potency of your Crimson and Cerulean Flasks, which is super important once you begin increasing your HP and mana. Elden Ring is notoriously difficult as a souls-like game, so getting as much healing as you can is important for the tougher battles. So, take a look at our rundown of the Elden Ring Sacred Tears locations.
- Want to become overpowered from the very beginning of the game? Here's how to get 70k runes in Elden Ring in your first hour.
Limgrave Sacred Tear #1: Third Church of Marika
The first Sacred Tear to track down is in the Third Church of Marika. From the Gatefront Ruins in Limgrave, follow the road east. Cross the bridge and when the road splits, take the northern road. Follow this until the bend by the river. You will find a church with a giant outside of it. Head into the Third Church of Marika and you will find the Sacred Tear at the foot of the statue.
Limgrave Sacred Tear #2: Church of Pilgrimage
For the next three Sacred Tears, we need to head to the Weeping Peninsula. At the northernmost tip of the island, you will find the Church of Sacrifice. The Sacred Tear can be found here below a large statue.
Limgrave Sacred Tear #3: Fourth Church of Marika
Another Church of Marika means another Sacred Tear. To find this one, head south-west from the Church of Sacrifice. You will pass some ruins and an evergaol, before finding the Fourth Church of Marika on a cliff. Again, the Sacred Tear is found at the statue.
Limgrave Sacred Tear #4: Callu Baptismal Church
Close to the center of the Weeping Peninsula, it is best to start out from the Morne Ramparts site of grace for this one. Go up the hill to Ailing Village. Just east of the village is the Callu Baptismal Church. Deal with the infestation of rats and grab the Sacred Tear at the statue.

Liurnia Sacred Tear #1: Church of Irith
Your first steps in Liurnia could be walking right by a Sacred Tear if you’re not careful. From the Lake-Facing Cliffs site of grace, go south-west around the corner of the castle and you will quickly find the Church of Irith. Like with many churches, there is a statue and you will find the Sacred Tear there.
Liurnia Sacred Tear #2: Bellum Church
Bellum Church is in northern Liurnia. You will find it to the left off the road from Raya Lucaria to the Grand Lift of Dectus. After the bridge, go left through the trees just before where you get bombarded by artillery and you will find the church near the cliff.

This is a particularly difficult Tear to get to. First of all, you need to get past the previously mentioned artillery and get to the Grand Lift of Dectus. From there, head south up the hill. This will take you to the Frenzied Flame Village, which is as lovely as it sounds. This place is riddled with madness-inducing towers and enemies. Have plenty of heals ready as an unavoidable amount of madness is going to take chunks out of your health bar.
When you reach the village, head north and continue up the hill until you find the Church of Inhibition at the very peak. As if it weren't enough of a job, you will be invaded by an NPC who does even more madness damage. Fight him or run for your life. Either way, get yourself to the Church of Inhibition to find your next Sacred Tear.
- Great Runes are a powerful tool in Elden Ring, but they need Rune Arcs to work. To learn more, check out Elden Ring Rune Arcs.
Caelid Sacred Tear: Church of the Plague
The Church of the Plague can be found due east of Sellia, Town of Sorcery. Approach from the north, ideally starting off from the site of grace at Fort Faroth. From there head south, you can use a Spirit Spring to jump down from the cliff, then continue south to the church where you will find the Tear.
- While you are collecting the Sacred Tears in the Altus Plateau you are also in the right area to complete a lot of Corhyn's quest. To learn more, check out our Elden Ring Corhyn quest guide.
Altus Plateau Sacred Tear #1: Second Church of Marika
To find the Second Church of Marika, head north from the Altus Highway Junction. Go left off the road and drop down the cliffs to reach the church and grab the Sacred Tear. Be wary of Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger as she will invade you when you enter the church.
Altus Plateau Sacred Tear #2: Stormcaller Church
This church is on the cliff above on the left as you approach the main gate into Leyndell. The simplest way to get there is to head out of the outer wall of Leyndell through the north-west gate, then hug the wall and go south. Once you get to the Rampartside Path site of grace, head southwest to reach the Stormcaller Church.
- Getting to the Mountaintops of the Giants involves defeating Morgott, The Omen King. For tips on how to take him on, check out our Elden Ring Morgott boss fight guide.
Mountaintops Sacred Tear #1: First Church of Marika
The First Church of Marika is located in the east of Mountaintops of the Giants. When you reach the centre of the region you will find a frozen river, follow it to the east and you will reach the frozen lake. Head to the most southern part of the lake and you will find the church, with the Sacred Tear inside.
Mountaintops Sacred Tear #2: Church of Repose
Further on through the region, this one is found just before the Fire Giant boss fight. Climb your way up through the mountains towards Flame Peak, and you will pass the church on the way. Find it by some large rocks west of the entrance to the Fire Giant fight.
