Escape from Tarkov's new Supply and Demand end-of-wipe event has introduced a new questline for Mechanic, with the 'Gunsmith Special Order' task being the first task for players to complete.

It requires you to build a specifically crafted M4A1, so check out the full weapon build and walkthrough below!

Gunsmith Special Order M4A1 build

Parts needed

Working off of a standard M4A1 bought from Peacekeeper LL1, here are all of the parts that you'll need to buy:

  • Magpul M-LOK 4.1 inch rail
  • AR-15 Magpul MOE SL carbine length M-LOK handguard
  • Zenit RK-1 tactical foregrip
  • AR-15 Daniel Defense Enhanced Collapsible Buttstock (Black)
  • EOTech XPS3-0 holographic sight
  • AR-15 HK Ergo PSG-1 style pistol grip
  • AR-15 AWC PSR 5.56x45 muzzle brake

The only 'essential' part that's needed for the build is the EOTech XPS3-0 holo, as that's specifically stated as part of the quest. However, there are a number of different ways to get to the other requirements.

Ultimately, you need to ensure that the weapon has no more than 300 total recoil (vertical+horizontal) and at least 70 ergonomics. Only a few combinations can achieve this, and something like the Ergo PSG-1 pistol grip helps a lot in achieving this.

The build overall set me back around 500,000₽, not counting the initial price of the M4A1, with a mix of items from the Traders and the Flea Market. You could definitely get it cheaper if you have max traders, but you might need to tweak the items around a bit depending on availability.

You'd also save a lot of money if you already have an XPS3-0 in your stash, as the supply and demand - no pun intended - has skyrocketed for that on the Flea.
