Is Exoprimal part of the Dino Crisis universe?
Exoprimal is not a part of the Dino Crisis universe or a secret sequel to help reboot the long-dead franchise.
This was first confirmed by the game's director, Takuro Hiraoka, during an interview with IGN in June 2022. "No, the game is its own unique thing and has no relationship to Dino Crisis" Hiraoka confirmed.
While this may upset some fans of the franchise, it's also probably for the best. Both series' are wildly different in tone and genre - with the first Dino Crisis being a slower horror game from Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil, while Exoprimal is a multiplayer shooter.
Dino Crisis may still have a chance at being revived with a re-release of the old games on modern platforms or an outright remake - and we know how fond Capcom is of remakes currently.
However, at this point we can only speculate as the company still hasn't confirmed if it has plans for the franchise.
It seems like every time it does a showcase and DC doesn't make an appearance, there is an outcry from fans online, so Capcom will have definitely heard the consistently disappointed responses.
That's all for our breakdown of whether Exoprimal is part of the Dino Crisis universe, and now you know it's a separate franchise entirely.
