FIFA 22 FUTTIES Promo: What To Expect, Leaks, Start Date
If you're excited about the FIFA 22 FUTTIES promo, then make sure to check this guide out for all the latest information, leaks, and what to expect going into the period.
The FIFA 22 FUTTIES promo is almost here, and if you're new to Ultimate Team, or you're simply wondering what's in store for the promo this year, you're not going to want to miss this guide. As we approach the end of the FIFA 22 cycle, EA start to get a bit more creative with their boosts, and that arguably shines no brighter than in the FUTTIES promo. So, if you're wondering what to expect in the FIFA 22 FUTTIES promo, then make sure to carry on reading below.
What Is The FIFA 22 FUTTIES Promo?
Historically in FIFA, the FUTTIES promo has been a way to inject some fun though the community as the Ultimate Team cycle starts to wear down. EA introduced a number of different categories that players can vote within, to decide exactly what players they want to have in the promo.
Furthermore, each category has a special twist that defines the direction of the card(s) that win. One for example could be centred around five star weak foot boosts, and another could be to do with a perfect link duo from the same club and nation.
Furthermore, it might be wise to expect EA to bring back various fan favourite cards that have released throughout the year into packs, as this has been something that they have done in previous years. As you can see from the new loading screen in the tweet above, we are likely to see a return of the Winter Wildcards Neymar, potentially TOTY Mbappe, and then also maybe Fut Fantasy Dembele. We might also see a new challenge cup or swaps-based system that arrives with exciting rewards based around the new promo.
It will be interesting to see which categories EA decide to go for in the upcoming FUTTIES promo, as there has been a significant increase in special boosts or changes throughout this FIFA cycle that would in theory make a promo like FUTTIES a bit less special.
Regardless, one thing that we are guaranteed to get is more super-juiced cards for you to insert into your team, and hopefully it will be for players who have seldom received boosts otherwise. And, it's pretty much a given that there will be a killer card design too, as that is one of the more consistent outputs across the board.
When Does The FIFA 22 FUTTIES Promo Start?
The FIFA 22 FUTTIES promo is due to start on Friday, July 15, at 6PM BST/10AM PT. As usual, this start time will coincide with the drop of a full FUTTIES 'team' into packs, and there will be lots challenge and player SBCs to fill out the promo.
How Long Will The FIFA 22 FUTTIES Promo Last?
While there is no confirmed length for the FIFA 22 FUTTIES promo, we can look towards leaks, and past entries to take an educated guess to how long the promo will last.
While there has not actually been a FUTTIES promo in a FIFA game since FIFA 19, we can expect a fairly long cycle due to the way that the promo works. As it is based around player votes, EA needs time to allow for the voting period to settle, so expect at least three weeks, but probably more. FUTTIES in FIFA 19 for example lasted five weeks, and we can expect something along those lines this year again.
In fact, leaks seem to suggest that five weeks is going to be the date for the promo, succeeding the already whopping four weeks we received for the previous Shapeshifters promo. This leaves plenty of time for EA to release some exciting SBCs for players to enjoy, and hopefully enough time for you to snap them all up too.
FIFA 22 FUTTIES Leaks
If there's one thing that you could define the FIFA 22 cycle with, it would be leaks, and thankfully they are back in full force in the lead up to the FUTTIES promo.
One of the most exciting leaks in the lead up to the FUTTIES promo is the tease of a new type of card, namely the 'Premium FUTTIES' card. As you can see above, this new card supposedly works in the same way as the Heroes cards, where they have a strong link to anyone in the same league.
It is unclear which players will receive this card type, but it is unlikely to be any new players to the game, or pre-existing Hero cards as they were part of the Shapeshifters promo. It could be reserved for players who have moved leagues in the current summer transfer window - for example Darwin Núñez to Liverpool from Benfica, or Aurélien Tchouaméni to Real Madrid from Monaco, but that is still yet to be seen.
Another exciting leak is that there will be another challenge cup for the FUTTIES promo, titled the 'FUTTIES PL Cup'. It is not known yet what exactly the requirements of this specific cup will be, but it will likely operate in the same way as previous editions, needing you to win a number of games within a specific amount of matches, and gaining rewards for each 'tier' that you surpass. You could potentially get your hands on a player pick of four 93+ Shapeshifters, Hero Shapeshifters, or TOTS players, which will definitely something to aim for.
In terms of players, two of the main SBCs or objectives that have been leaked so far for the FUTTIES promo are Chelsea's Mason Mount and Reece James. This is billed as a 'Dynamic Duo' objective, and likely requires you to complete various Chelsea or England themed challenges to get your hands on the pair of Cobham grown players.
Another objective leak has come in the form of VfL Wolfsburg's Kevin Mbabu. There is no further information regarding whether the Swiss international will be receiving any other special features beyond a stat boost, but it will be surely be an excellent card for anyone looking for a new Bundesliga right back.
If you were wondering who won the first FIFA 22 FUTTIES player vote, then thankfully the leaks have come in clutch. Liverpool's exciting Colombian left winger Luis Diaz was the winner, so he will receive a fantastic stat boost over his Headliners card, and also have his weak foot upgraded to five stars in line with the voting category.
Make sure to keep checking on this page for any further updates, leaks, or new information, as we will be updating it with everything as soon as it releases.
So, that rounds off everything you need to know about the FIFA 22 FUTTIES promo before it comes out, including any leaks that have circulated, and what previous years have brought to the table.
