All Final Fantasy 16 Dominants: Joshua, Hugo, Cid & more
Set in Valisthea, most of the story in Final Fantasy 16 revolves around the Mothercrystals that tower over the realms and the Dominants, people who can call upon the power of Eikons. In Final Fantasy 16, you, as Clive, will meet several Dominants who play a significant role in the game's story.
Learning about all Dominants in Final Fantasy 16 is an excellent topic if you are a lore seeker. To do that, you must progress the game by a certain amount. If you want to know who is who before jumping into the game yourself, let's get into the identities of all FF16 Dominants.

How many Dominants are in Final Fantasy 16?

Clive Rosfield
Click to enlargeClive is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy 16, the firstborn child of the Archduke of Grand Duchy of Rosaria.
The game's story starts with the narrative that Clive was not worthy of being the Dominant for the Eikon of Fire, Phoenix - his little brother, Joshua, being the chosen one instead. Early in the game, however, we learn that Clive holds a mysterious dark Eikon and the Eikon of Fire, Ifrit.
Moreover, being the protagonist, Clive's abilities don't stop there. He can also use the power of other Eikons after coming in contact with them.
Joshua Rosfield
Click to enlargeJoshua is the brother of Clive Rosfield and one of the Final Fantasy 16 Dominants. Specifically, he is current Dominant of the Phoenix, the original Eikon of Fire. At least, that is what people in Valisthea believed.
Whilst a kind-hearted boy and loving brother to Clive, Joshua's slightly ill health, despite being the Phoenix Dominant and heir to the throne, resulted in him being coddled by his mother during childhood.
Cidolfus Telamon
Click to enlargeCidolfus Telamon is one of the key characters that Clive meets after defeating the Eikon of Ice, Shiva. Cid holds the Eikon of Thunder for the Eikon, Ramuh. He is also the leader of the Hideaway.
As you progress through Final Fantasy 16's story, new details on Cid unfold as your first actual encounter with Benedikta reveals that Cid was the former Commander of the Royal Waloeder Army.
Benedikta Harman
Click to enlargeBenedikta Harman is the current acting Commander of Waloed's elite intelligencers. One of the Final Fantasy 16 Dominants, she holds the power of the Eikon, Garuda - aka Warden of the Wind.
Hugo Kupka
Click to enlargeHugo Kupka is the Permanent Economic Adviser for the Dhalmekian Republic, who also serves as the Dominant of Titan, the Eikon of the Earth.
In the starting minutes of Final Fantasy 16, you learn about Hugo being the Dominant of Titan. As a bonus, you also get to see a great battle between Titan and Shiva.
Jill Warrick

In the starting hours of the Final Fantasy 16, you know her as the trusty confident of the two brothers, only later to learn that she holds the power of the Dominant of Ice for the Eikon, Shiva.
Dion Lesage

Barnabas Tharmr

The early impressions of Barnabas Tharmr are not that great until you find that this Dominant holds the power of the Warden of Darkness - the Eikon, Odin.
