With the game almost here, more PlayStation fans will want to know the Final Fantasy 16 download size. That's especially because if it's as big as expected, plenty of room will likely need to be made on PS5 consoles far and wide.

So, let's break down what you need to know about FF16's download size, including details on the day one patch.

How big is the FF16 download size?

Recently confirmed by PlayStation Game Size, the Final Fantasy 16 file size is 90.131GB.  Although the base file size is 90.180GB, a day one patch of 300MB means a slight increase to an already massive storage requirement on the PS5.

We'd recommend ensuring that you have at least 93-94GB of storage space free on your PS5 in case of any small post-launch updates. It's already a surprise that Final Fantasy 16 is getting a day one patch at all, despite game director Hiroshi Takai saying to Game Informer earlier this year that there wouldn't be one.

Nevertheless, when announced during a special pre-launch live stream, as reported by MP1ST, producer Naoki Yoshida did apologize for there being a day-one update after all. What's more, he also stated that this patch is not required to play the game - as it aims to only fix minor text and very rare progression issues.

So, those who have bought a physical copy (or pre-loaded the game digitally) before the patch can still enjoy Final Fantasy 16 and its massive file size without an internet connection.
