How to turn off motion blur in Final Fantasy 16
So many players have been complaining about the motion blur in Final Fantasy 16, but there is finally a way to disable it in the game, so find out more here.
If you opted for the graphics mode in particular in Final Fantasy 16, you will have had to wrestle with an insane amount of motion blur with no way to turn it off - or even reduce it. It even got to the point where players were feeling motion sickness when playing the game, which is certainly not what you want in such an action-heavy title.
We've got everything you need to know about how to turn off motion blur in Final Fantasy 16 below, as a patch has finally addressed the issue.
How to get rid of motion blur
The recent 1.03 update to Final Fantasy 16 has given players the option to reduce or completely turn off motion blur in-game. All you need to do is follow the steps below:
- Navigate to the 'System' tab from the in-game or main menu of Final Fantasy 16.
- Press R1 until you reach the television icon 'Graphics Settings' tab.
- Select the 'Motion Blur' option and adjust the number slider to your preferred setting.
- Setting it at 5 will have the maximum amount, but reducing it to zero will get rid of motion blur completely.
Before this update, the only way to reduce motion blur in Final Fantasy 16 was by changing the graphical mode to 'Performance' instead of the 'Graphics' setting. This did reduce it - but not completely remove it - and also came with a far more unstable framerate experience so was not ideal.
Does motion blur affect performance in Final Fantasy 16?
Having motion blur enabled will have a potential impact on your performance in Final Fantasy 16, but it will be relatively negligible to the point where it won't be noticeable most of the time. Some players do prefer to have at least a small amount of motion blur on when playing at 30 fps, as it can help smooth out the 'choppy' feeling that lower framerates can sometimes provide.
However, we would recommend keeping the motion blur set to at most 2 on the slider if you do choose to use it, as anything more than that will be far too much and obscure what you're actually able to see on the screen. Beyond this, we would recommend trying out turning off motion blur completely, as most players prefer it.
