Fire Emblem Engage Growth Rates Explained
Fire Emblem Engage characters improve based on their growth rates, here are the details you need to know to understand that system.
Fire Emblem Engage growth rates are metrics by which your allies improve their stats. Fire Emblem Engage is a numbers game, and managing your units is the core of that. Growth rates are a bit complicated, but they are core to the game's mechanics. Here is everything you need to know about Fire Emblem Engage growth rates.

Fire Emblem Engage Growth Rates: Character Growth Rates
Every character on your roster has their individual character growth rates. Growth rates pertain to the stats of characters, and how they improve as they level up. Each character has nine different stats, and you can learn more about them in our Fire Emblem Engage stats explained guide.
Levelling up your characters will increase their stats, but not in a way you might expect. Stat increases are not definitive, flat numbers. Instead, stat increases are determined by the character's growth rate. Growth rates are percentage chances assigned to each of a unit's stats that determine if that stat will increase when the unit levels up.
For example, the player character Alear has a HP growth rate of 60. This means, when you level your main character up, they have a 60% chance of increasing their maximum health. Their Magic growth rate is just 20, so they only have a 20% chance of improving in Magic with each level.
Every character has their own growth rates, which represent their affinities for certain attributes. The bigger and stronger characters will have higher growth rates in Strength and Defence, and the more magically attuned will have higher growth rates in Magic and Resistance.
This does bring an element of randomness into levelling up, which is why some of your units may seem much stronger while others are lagging behind.

Fire Emblem Engage Growth Rates: Class Growth Rates
On top of character growth rates, class growth rates also affect your units. Class growth rates work in tandem with character growth rates. They are essentially the same thing but tied to classes rather than individual characters. As such, you have options as to how you apply them.
As an example, say you have a character with an HP growth rate of 60. If that character were to take on the Archer class, which has an HP growth rate of 10, that character would now have a 70% chance of increasing their HP when they level up.
This is where you can really min-max your overall growth rates. By equipping well-suited characters with the right classes, you can make sure that they are getting huge stat boosts every time they level up. There will always be a degree of randomness to it, so the goal is to maximise your chances at the best results by playing to your characters' strengths.
