Fortnite best landing spots: Mega City and Anvil Square on the map

You have a number of good options regarding where you can land in Chapter 4 Season 2. The big new addition to the map is Mega City, and while it might be tempting, this is not a place you want to drop straight onto.

If the bright lights of Mega City appeal to you, you might want to land somewhere nearby first, such as Steamy Springs or Knotty Nets, then make your way towards the city when you are properly equipped.

An excellent place to set yourself up for success is Anvil Square. Here you will find plenty of chests, barrels, and everything else you need to get a head start. The many buildings here make Anvil Square a great place to avoid running into enemies too quickly and the structures provide excellent cover if you need it.

This small town is just to the east of the Citadel, so when you are stocked up you can easily go there next to find some opponents and get some even more powerful gear.

Finally, if you prefer somewhere a little more remote and out of the way, somewhere you aren't likely to run into anyone else for a while, we have a great spot for you.

It isn't a named POI, but right at the top of the map, beside the most northern point in the icy area, there is a large ship. This ship often has great loot, and just south of there is a massive cave structure where even more loot can be found.

Fortnite landing spots: Landing tips

Fortnite best landing spots: A group of players dropping together

If you are relatively new to Fortnite and still figuring out how it all works, here are some tips to help you with deciding where to start your matches.

First of all, landing directly in the middle of a built-up area is generally a bad idea. You are likely to be surrounded by other players, so instead, try to aim for less populated areas, or land on the outskirts of busy areas to give yourself a chance.

Some places are better for loot than others, but nowhere is completely lacking in it. If you are playing with a team, be sure to use your map markers to indicate where you want to go, and coordinate so you don't end up in four different corners of the map.

Finally, don't be afraid to experiment. Some landing spots are better than others, and top players will usually work out the most optimal places to land, but for the most part, your best bet is to find the places that suit you. Play a few matches, land in a few different areas, and see what works for you.
