Fortnite Chapter 4 Season OG has arrived, sending battle royale fans back in time to the OG map from Chapter 1 and bringing loads of fan-favourite weapons back into the loot pool.

It's no secret that Fortnite fans have been longing for the return of the Chapter 1 map and loot pool for years now. Sure, there have been plenty of fan-made Creative maps, but they've never hit quite the same.

That's why the much-hyped Fortnite OG season is so exciting, as there are four weeks of good ol' Chapter 1 content to look forward to. With the update finally here, we're going to walk you through the patch notes.

The old map returns!

OG loopers rejoice: The original map from Chapter 1 has returned to the popular battle royale, meaning it's bye-bye Mega City and hello Pleasant Park, Lonely Lodge, and Tilted Towers! Where are you landing first?

Even better, the map will evolve throughout the season, starting at Chapter 1: Season 5 and progressing through to Chapter 1: Season X. Keep an eye out for all the map changes arriving each week.

A remixed Battle Pass

A new season of Fortnite means a new Battle Pass to work your way through, although this one is a little different than usual, as it contains mashed-up versions of popular skins from way back in Chapter 1.

There are just four skins in this Battle Pass - Spectra Knight, Lil' Split, Renegade Lynx, and Omegarok - but they all have various styles to unlock, while Spectra Knight has multiple customisation options

Loads of unvaulted weapons

It wouldn't be the OG map without the OG weapons, so you'll be glad to hear that guns like the Assault Rifle, the Hunting Rifle, and (of course) the Pump Shotgun have been unvaulted and are back in the loot pool.

You'll also be able to add items like the Damage Trap, Grappler, and Boogie Bomb to your loadout, and speed around the Island in a Shopping Cart. Just like the map, the weapon pool will evolve each week.

New changes each week...

Just like those end-game shootouts, Fortnite OG is set to be a fast-paced season. Each week will see a new update hit the Island, with changes to the loot pool and map reflecting the final five seasons of Chapter 1.

Here are some of the changes you can expect to see:

  • November 9 - Season 6 arrives with the return of Quadcrashers, Driftboards, Mounted Turrets, Six Shooters, Chiller Traps, and more.
  • November 16 - Seasons 7 & 8 arrive with the X-4 Stormwing, Pirate Cannon, and Buried Treasure, alongside a snow biome and pirate camps.
  • November 23 - Seasons 9 & X arrive with Proximity Grenade Launchers, Air Strikes, Junk Rifts, Storm Flips, Jetpacks, Ballers, and more.

We'll keep you updated with the full list of changes each week as they happen.

A free Fortnite OG lobby track

Every player who logs in during the Fortnite OG season will be given a free lobby track, called The Re-OG Lobby Track by Metro Boomin. You can listen to this in your Locker.

When does Fortnite Chapter 4 Season OG end?

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season OG is currently scheduled to end on December 2, 2023.

That's also when the OG Battle Pass expires, so you've only got four weeks to enjoy this trip back in time. As a result, this feels more like a special limited-edition season of Fortnite rather than a regular season.
