Are you trying to figure out why Clix got banned from Fortnite? Clix is one of the biggest names in competitive Fortnite, so it comes as a shock to many that Epic Games would bar him from competing. With that, let's review, in detail, exactly why Clix got banned from Fortnite.
Why did Clix get banned from Fortnite?
On April 23, 2023, Cody "Clix" Conrod received a ban from competitive play for "teaming up with a competitor". The good news is this is a temporary ban. The bad news is this ban will force Clix to miss the next two Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) events, meaning he can't compete until Chapter 4 Season 4.
To summarise what happened, Clix was competing and streaming Fortnite's Solo Victory Cup on April 22, 2023. During one of his matches, Clix speculated that another individual in the match was stream-sniping him.
To prove it to his viewers, Clix demanded out loud that the suspected stream-sniper heal him with Chug Splashes and drop him items/materials. The opposing player went on to do just that, confirming that they were, in fact, stream-sniping Clix. The problem is Clix went on to win the match in which he received help from the stream-sniper.
The clip of this happening went viral, and despite the circumstances surrounding it, Epic Games viewed this incident as a violation of their rules. While the ban is just two weeks in duration, it's still a major blow, as it'll prevent Clix from participating in the upcoming FNCS NA Grand Finals, the subsequent FNCS Season, and the Copenhagen LAN.
- The Copenhagen LAN is shaping up to be one of the biggest Fortnite LAN tournaments ever.
Community's response to Clix getting banned from Fortnite
After news of the ban broke, Clix received an outpouring of support from prominent members of the Fortnite community. Most everyone's in agreement that what Clix did was wrong and deserving of some form of punishment. However, a 14-day ban doesn't fit the crime committed.
Ali "SypherPK" Hassan, Rani "Stable Ronaldo" Netz, and Kayla "Sommerset" Sommerset are just some of the figures in the competitive Fortnite community that publicly expressed their support for the #FreeClix movement.

Clix's response to getting banned from Fortnite
In response to the ban, Clix tweeted out his side of the story along with a roughly six-minute-long video breaking down what happened.
In the video, Clix proves that the alleged stream-sniper was, without a doubt, stream-sniping. Clix acknowledges that he should not have encouraged the stream-sniper to heal him or gift him valuable items and that it was a mistake in the heat of the moment. Clix goes on to say that he would happily accept a three-day ban or even a seven-day ban but that a two-week ban feels too harsh.
In the end, Clix appeals to Epic Games to reconsider the 14-day competitive Fortnite ban he received for this incident. Clix states in the video that he already had a call with Epic Games, and they refused to change their stance, so this Twitter video is a final attempt to win Epic Games over.
So, that's why Clix got banned from Fortnite. While the punishment is certainly controversial, it doesn't sound like Epic Games is going to reverse its decision. Expect Clix to make his return to competitive Fortnite in Chapter 4 Season 4.
