The Crash Pad Jr. is a handy item that has returned in Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 1, and you may be wondering how you can get one as well as how to use it.
The uncommon item is similar to the Crash Pad that was introduced in Chapter 2: Season 2 but there are a few key differences. Below, we'll explain what the Crash Pad Jr. is, how best to use it in the game, and where you can find it on the Island.
Where to find the Crash Pad Jr. in Fortnite
Fortunately, this is a very easy item to get in the game, as you can find the Crash Pad Jr. as regular floor loot or inside Chests. When looking for them, I found some in a standard Chest whilst I also saw some just floating in a building waiting to be picked up.
So, much like everything in Fortnite, your best bet is to do some thorough looting. Once you find them and pick them up, you will have three of them in your loadout - although you can stack more if you want to.
How to use the Crash Pad Jr. in Fortnite
The Crash Pad Jr. is a small crash pad, much smaller than the original one (or Mr Crash Pad, as I will now call it) and has a very specific use case. When falling from a height push the button prompt on your screen to break your fall. You don't even need to have them equipped, just in your inventory.
You can also throw them down manually by equipping them, this way you can be a bit more measured with how you use them. In the popular Zero Build mode, the Crash Pad Jr. can be an effective way to get to hard-to-reach places as you can't build ramps.
