While most of the weekly Fortnite challenges are simple, you get the occasional one that pushes the boundaries slightly. Whereas most will ask you to repeat tasks you’ve done a million times before, the occasional quest will throw a spanner in the works and have you racking your brain on how to complete it.
This week’s offender is to eliminate a player with no ranged weapons in your inventory and while on foot. It’s a bit of a mouthful, and a stark contrast from the rest, which see you completing minor tasks such as throwing items. If you’re struggling on this one and want to get it done, we have a few tips to help you out in Fortnite.
Eliminating a player with no ranged weapons
Firstly, you could try and land on the map as soon as possible and axe another player to death, but this is probably the hardest method for completion. Instead, we recommend a duos or higher team to help you eliminate a player with no ranged weapons in your inventory.
When playing as a team, you have more chances to take down an opponent, mainly due to the fact that they will go into a downed state before dying. With this in mind, you have a couple of options at your disposal to assist you in completing this challenge.
The easiest way is waiting for a teammate to down a player, allowing you to run over with your axe and finish the kill. Bear in mind, that you must drop any weapons in your inventory and avoid jumping while whacking them to register this challenge as complete.
Alternatively, you can use the weapons you find to down another player, before immediately dropping them and claiming the kill with your axe. Both solutions have their advantages and disadvantages, but will each lead you to complete the eliminate a player with no ranged weapon in your inventory challenge.
