How to get the Grapple Glove in Fortnite OG
Here's everything you need to know about where to find the Grapple Glove in Fortnite OG, as well as some tips on how to use it in the Battle Royale game.

As part of Fortnite OG season, classic items are gradually being reintroduced, including the Grapple Glove that has entered the loot pool once again.
The Grapple Glove, despite being introduced later into Fortnite during Chapter 3 Season 3, was a huge hit with fans of the game and its return will be welcome for many - especially because it’s so handy for getting you out of a jam.
How to find the Grapple Glove in Fortnite
There are two ways you can find the Grapple Glove in Fortnite:
- The Glove can be found at a rift encounter which spawns at random on the map
- Alternatively, you can loot it off another player who has already found the glove
These rift encounters spawn randomly across the map, but they are easily recognisable by the purple spray paint and purple chest hiding inside. There's obviously an element of luck here, but keeping an eye out for any unusual activity on the Island should help.
If another player is using the Grapple Glove they should be easy to spot, as you’ll notice them swinging around the map. The issue will be catching them.
The Glove will give the user considerable advantage with mobility but with the returning weapons like the snipers and bush, you may be able to creep up silently on them, eliminate them, and steal their Grapple Glove.
How to use the Grapple Glove
Using the Glove takes a bit of getting used to, but once you've cracked it, you can build up a good rhythm and travel across the map with ease. Here is how to use the item:
- Equip the Grapple Glove in your inventory
- Aim at what you want to swing off
- Press the button you would usually press to shoot
- Now you will be flung into the air
- Whilst swinging to your destination, aim again and repeat to keep swinging
If you do hit the ground, you will have to wait 30 seconds for the item to recharge and you can only keep one in your inventory at a time.
