Fortnite is popular enough to have its own vernacular that's often coined by the developers or the community, before being used widely. LTM is one of these terms that you may have seen thrown around, but new players won't understand what it means.

What does LTM stand for?

In Fortnite, LTM stands for Limited Time Mode. These are special events that typically are seasonal, or that run as part of a chapter or season - and as the name implies, they only take place for a specific amount of time.

In game, they are officially a type of playlist, and offer a twist on the type of gameplay found in the standard battle royale mode.

Chapter 5 Season 4, which is currently taking place and features a Marvel theme, is rumoured to get a LTM soon called Heroes vs Villains. The most popular LTMs take place in the holidays, such as Fortnitemares.

It's worth noting that some people confuse these with Live Events, which are much shorter and take place during games as part of a storyline, meaning you need to be playing at the exact time these take place or you'll miss them.
