If you don't usually befriend wildlife in Fortnite, you probably weren't aware that you could pet wolves and boars. As it turns out, you can give your furry Fortnite friends a few tender pats on the back and earn XP for it too! This primer covers how to pet wolves and boars in Fortnite and where to find wolves and boars in Chapter 4 Season 3.

How to pet wolves and boars

Petting wildlife in Fortnite is relatively easy. While you can't pet raptors, you can pet wolves and boars.

Before you can pet a wolf or a boar, you must tame the wild animal and earn its trust. You used to have to use meat, fruits, and vegetables to gain the favor of wolves and boars in Fortnite, but all you have to do nowadays to tame these beasts is jump on their back.

Once you're mounted atop a wolf or a boar, press the "Pet" key/button to show the creature some affection. By default, Pet is bound to B on the keyboard and down on the D-Pad on a controller. If you remapped your Fortnite keybinds, you can glance at the left-hand side of the screen to double-check what your bind for the Pet command is.

Where to find wolves and boars

The most common place to find wolves and boars in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 is the Mediaeval and Grasslands biomes. You will occasionally encounter these mammals in the Snow and Teal Foothills biomes too, but not nearly as often as in the Medieval and Grasslands biomes.

Wildlife in Fortnite doesn't usually hang out around areas with lots of foot traffic, either. When searching for wolves and boars, your best bet is to scout the outskirts of Points of Interest (POIs) like Breakwater Bay, Shattered Slabs, and Slappy Shores.

Wildlife like wolves and boars are surprisingly rare in Chapter 4 Season 3 of Fortnite.

Wolves and boars are somewhat scarce in Chapter 4 Season 3 compared to previous seasons of the game, but if you patrol the territories they typically roam, you should find one of these animals in due time.

Once you locate a wolf or a boar, all you need to do is tame it and press the appropriate key/button to pet it. Shower the next wolf or boar you tame in Fortnite with love to complete one of the Lagoon Party Time Quests for Fortnite Summer Escape, earn an accolade, and net a bunch of XP.

The Mediaeval biome is a hotspot for wildlife In Fortnite Chapter 4.
