How to use the Prime Shotgun
The Prime Shotgun's call to fame is that the first shot in its clip deals enhanced damage. In fact, the first shot out of the clip does a whopping 50% more damage than each of the remaining three shots is capable of.
The light display on the side of the Prime Shotgun is designed to help you track how many shots remain in the weapon. If you see a red light, that means you have an extra-strong shot locked and loaded.
If the opportunity presents itself, Prime Shotgun users should reload the gun right after firing the first shot. This strategy will load another bonus strength shell into the magazine. No time to reload? Consecutive shots from the Prime Shotgun are still deadly — they just don't have that added oomph.
Like the Fortnite Charge SMG, the Prime Shotgun is great for initiating a fight. A single blast from a fully loaded Prime Shotgun will nearly eliminate an opponent on its own. With your opponent crippled, you can finish them off with something like the Combat SMG or Stinger SMG.
