Fortnite recently released a new, thrilling game mode, Fortnite Reload. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about the mode and how to play it for yourself.

What is Fortnite Reload?

Fortnite Reload map

Fortnite reload is a fast-paced game mode, full of constant fighting as teams respawn and drop back into the smaller, yet thrilling, new map.

With the choice of duos or squads, 40 players will drop from the battle bus into the smaller map, with community favourite POIs including Tilted Towers, Pleasant Park and Retail Row.

Upon elimination, you'll need to wait for a 40-second timer until you're rebooted, gliding in with a grey AR and 100 wood. However, one teammate must stay alive for your team to be rebooted, or you will all be sent back to the lobby. Your teammates can reduce your 40-second timer, -2 seconds for a down, -4 seconds for an elimination, and a huge -10 seconds for a squad wipe.

You should also note that when knocked, you will have the option to bleed out rather than waiting to be revived, which can be very helpful when it comes to rebooting quickly. But be careful, after the 7th zone closes the reboot feature will be disabled and the end game will continue like a normal game.

When dropping in, you’ll notice that there’s plenty of loot around the map, as in Fortnite Reload there’s a 100% spawn rate for chests - this means you'll see a lot more floor loot spawning. Additionally, you'll also see supply drops spawn across the map in the late game.

The exotic chest is a new, incredibly rare chest that can be found in Fortnite Reload, bringing your team 5 exotic weapons and a consumable item. Unfortunately, this chest’s spawn rate is 0.05%. To put that into perspective for you, that's 1 in every 2000 chests.

Fortnite Reload also brings a greater loot pool than the regular BR mode, including grapplers and shockwaves for mobility, bunkers and shield bubbles in the no-build mode, and a huge range of ARs and shotguns from the old loot pools.

How to play Fortnite Reload

You can play Fortnite Reload by selecting it from the main menu screen of Fortnite. There are two versions, with one being a no-build variant that prevents players from using any of the classic building tools.

As the mode is an official introduction from Epic Games, it seems like it's here to stay. Make sure to give it a go yourself if you're interested!
