The Storm Flip is back in Fortnite OG! This item had been vaulted since 2019, but its return means one of the most powerful throwable items is now active in the game and available to use.

Considering how many more people are currently playing the game, with the player count reaching an all-time high, there will be many players who missed the Storm Flip item the first time around - and newcomers probably won’t know what to do with it.

How to use the Storm Flip in Fortnite

You use the Storm Flip like any other throwable item in the game, but depending on where you throw it, you'll get different results. It's one of the few items that are just as effective inside of the Storm as they are outside of it.

If you use the Storm Flip inside the Storm, it will make a dome that will protect you from its effects. This protection is one of the few ways to circumvent the gradual damage done whilst you’re stuck in no man’s land.

If you use the Storm Flip outside of the Storm, then you bring the Storm to you. Once again, a dome will erupt out of the Molotov-style bottle, this time unleashing the power of the Storm wherever you want to use it.

This item is particularly useful towards the end of a game when the storm is shrinking, as it can help get you out of a jam. It can also be used to eliminate opponents when you're in a tight space and they'll struggle to escape its effects.

If you want to try a Storm Flip out for yourself, you can find them in chests dotted around the map or dropped by an eliminated opponent if they had one in their inventory.

That's all there is to know about the Storm Flip in Fortnite and how to use it. If you also want to know what challenges are currently in the game or what's new in the most recent update then check out our Fortnite homepage.
