It's about that time for Fortnite Summer Escape. Summer Escape is the 2023 rendition of Fortnite's annual summer-themed seasonal event. This primer serves as a preview of what you can expect from the Fortnite Summer Escape event.
Fortnite Summer Escape: Start date
Fortnite's 2023 Summer Escape event begins July 4, 2023, at 2pm BST. The event will run for two weeks before ending on July 18, 2023.

Fortnite Summer Escape: Quests
Summer Escape will include a slew of limited-time quests. While the specific challenges have yet to be revealed, they will fall into the falling questlines:
- The Quench Quest
- Lagoon Party Time
- Make an Entrance
Each questline will feature a series of summer-themed quests.

Fortnite Summer Escape: Free rewards and other cosmetics
The Fortnite Summer Escape event offers a bunch of free rewards that players can collect by completing the Summer Escape Quests. Participants can look forward to goodies like a Glider, Contrail, Loading Screen, Spray, and a couple of Wraps. Some notable Fortnite leakers anticipate that there will be additional rewards too, such as a Back Bling, Pickaxe, and Music Pack.
If you have V-Bucks to spend, the Item Shop during the Summer Escape event will include a remix of the Chaos Agent Outfit called Chaos Explorer, additional styles for the Cozy and Comfy Chomps Skins, and a whole bunch of other summer-themed Outfits.

Fortnite Summer Escape: Surfboards and other summer-themed items
Surfboards have always been exclusive to Fortnite: Creative, but during Summer Escape, Surfboards will be available across the Island for players who want to catch some waves! Surfboards function identically to the Driftboards introduced in Season 7 of Chapter 1.
Surfboards are just the beginning of the fun items that'll be obtainable during Summer Escape. The Ice Cream Consumables are back, along with a brand-new variant of the Flare Gun titled the Firework Flare Gun.
