With the pirate themed Cursed Sails event here in Fortnite, of course you'll have to walk the plank in some form or another. The action is tied to a specific challenge players need to complete as part of the Pirate Code quests.

How to walk the plank
Walking the plank requires you to visit the Shipwreck Shallows section of the map, find the Black Pearl pirate ship, and just simply walk along the plank that can be found on the deck until you drop off.
Simple enough in theory, right? Well, not quite. Currently, it's a highly contested spot due to the recent release of the Cursed Sails event, so players curious to see the new locations and complete the walk the plank challenge themselves will be swarming here.
There are two schools of thought worth considering when it comes to completing the challenge.
Firstly, you can drop there straight from the battle bus if you want to get it out of the way. The only trouble is this gives you the highest chance of dying and having to try again, as plenty of players will be landing here, and few will be courteous enough to let you do the challenge.
The second method of approach, and my personal recommendation, is to wait until later in the game, when a bunch of players have died. This gives you a higher chance of finding the place empty and completing the challenge without being hassled.
With Shipwreck Shallows being located near the centre, it also means it's more likely to be in the zone once the map borders begin closing places off.
There's a little bit of luck involved in completing this, but it won't take you more than a few tries, unless you're as unlucky as the few people who did walk the plank historically.
