To celebrate the arrival of Korra in the Battle Pass, a brand new Mythic has been added to Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 2, letting players unleash Waterbending on their opponents.

This season's major crossover is with the animated series Avatar: The Legend of Korra. After weeks of waiting, Korra has joined the game with players now able to unlock her outfit and matching cosmetics. But that's not all, as the Avatar's Waterbending technique is also available to try out!

The good news is that the Waterbending technique has been added to the regular loot pool, which means you'll be able to find it inside Chests or even as floor loot!

Just like the Thunderbolt of Zeus and the Wings of Icarus, this new Waterbending technique is a rare Mythic item, so it's not guaranteed you'll find one in every match. You'll need to do lots of looting or simply get lucky.

What does the Waterbending Mythic do?

The main feature of the Waterbending technique is the ability to fire icy projectiles at opponents. You can do this in the same way you'd fire a gun: aim at your target and then fire away with the shoot button.

That's not all - when you've got the Waterbending Mythic in your loadout, you'll slowly recover health whenever you're in the water. You'll also swim faster and recharge your Waterbending projectiles.

Is it any good?

I tried out the new technique just after it went live in the game and had a lot of fun with it. It doesn't deal huge amounts of damage, but you can fire several shots in a row without needing to reload for quite a while.

Even better, you can reload whenever you need to by simply tapping the reload button (e.g. Square on PS5) and it only takes a couple of seconds. This means there's very little downtime between attacks.

Personally, I think this new Waterbending technique is a much better projectile than the Thunderbolt of Zeus, as that weapon - although devastating - takes far too long to launch and leaves you open to damage.

As you can see, this is going to be a pretty handy Mythic to have at your disposal. Time will tell if it's as overpowered as the Chains of Hades, but its healing abilities and faster swimming are sure to be popular.
