So, when does building come back to Fortnite? Undoubtedly the biggest change of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 has been the removal of the game's signature building mechanics. Over a week into a world without building, everyone's wondering, when is building coming back to Fortnite?
- Wait, is that true? Did Fortnite remove building? Learn more about this divisive change.
When Does Building Come Back To Fortnite?
Building is scheduled to make its return to Fortnite on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. While Epic Games has not officially made an announcement themselves, all signs point towards this being the date that building comes back to Fortnite.
Fortnite's most respected leakers and dataminers have said since day one of Chapter 3 Season 2 that no building in Fortnite would be a temporary nine-day event. Chapter 3 Season 2 began on March 20, so March 29 would be exactly nine days out.
Furthermore, the Rebuilding Quests, like Fortnite establish Device Uplink, all revolve around the goal of getting building back. As the community progresses through these tasks, we get closer and closer to countering Doctor Slone's anti-build measures.
There's no doubt about it — building is coming back to Fortnite.
Will Fortnite Keep No Building?
But what about a permanent "no-build" mode? It's no secret that casuals and big-time streamers alike absolutely adore the removal of building in Fortnite. With such a heavy demand for building to be removed permanently, what are the chances we get the option to play without building forever?
Well, from the looks of things, it appears that Epic Games may offer us the best of both worlds. While building will return to the main game modes soon, a permanent "no-build" mode will follow shortly after. Even sweeter, there will be a Solos, Duos, and Squads version, so you won't be limited to a specific party size.
The new "no-build" mode will probably be labelled as a limited-time mode (LTM), but if the demand remains as strong as it is right now, there would be no reason for Epic Games to not keep a no-building mode around as a permanent fixture in Fortnite.
Fortnite saw a number of changes with Chapter 3 Season 2, meaning you will have to learn how to Tactical Sprint and mantle in Fortnite if you want to keep getting those Victory Royales.
