While the Shockwave Hammer was removed from Fortnite following a glitch, it will be coming back to the game very soon. The Shockwave Hammer was introduced to Fortnite in the recent transition to Chapter 4, with it quickly becoming a fan favourite to find on the battlefield. Here's when the Shockwave Hammer is coming back to Fortnite.
When Is The Shockwave Hammer Coming Back In Fortnite?
Thankfully, it seems that Epic Games has acted quickly in squashing the Shockwave Hammer bug from the game. According to FortniteBR on Twitter, a hotfix patch at 4 AM EST / 9 AM GMT should see the Shockwave Hammer return to all Fortnite playlists.
This means that players can expect to be using the Shockwave Hammer in Fortnite again very soon. Hopefully, this quick fix has removed the frustrating bug from the game and players can use the Shockwave Hammer as it was originally intended.
Why Was The Shockwave Hammer Removed From Fortnite?
The Shockwave Hammer quickly became a fan-favourite item in Fortnite due to its ability to be used as a movement item. By quickly slamming the Hammer down, players could use it to jump vast distances in quick succession. It can also be used to deal massive amounts of damage to enemy players, and also knocks them flying backwards for good measure.
However, a glitch quickly surfaced that meant some players could exploit the movement ability of the Shockwave Hammer. If players used the Hammer's ability as they struck water, they would be granted with a permanent jump boost ability that let them zip around the map with incredible speed.
Of course, this was an unintentional bug in Fortnite. As such, Epic Games has removed the Shockwave Hammer from the game to prevent the bug from occurring.
