Goat Simulator 3 is a much bigger and better game than the original entry, and this guide will teach you how to play it in co-op.

As soon as you load up Goat Simulator 3, you’ll notice additional spaces next to your furry friend, offering a further three players the chance to join you. Thankfully, the game works in both local and online co-op, meaning you can either invite friends around to join you or jump in online with your group.

Goat Simulator 3 is that it’s entirely playable in co-op. Up to four players can team up and explore the world, creating a path of destruction in their wake. So read on and I'll tell you all about how to start both local and online co-op play in the game!

How to play local co-op in Goat Simulator 3

If you’re going old school and want to play with your friends in the comfort of your own home, all you need is a few controllers to fill that void. As you enter the main menu, you simply need to do the following:

  • Turn on both controllers
  • Hold the assigned button to add another player
  • Select the user on your system
  • You'll now be able to play Goat Simulator 3 in co-op

By following these steps you can easily join your friends and play some local co-op in the game.

As with local co-op, it’s relatively easy to invite your friends to Goat Simulator 3. You can either do this via your console, or you can view the in-game friends list to invite your buddies. Here's the easiest way to invite friends to your game online:

  • On the main menu, click the Friends button
  • Select the friend you want to join you
  • Click Invite
  • Once they've accepted your invite you can play together

Unfortunately, from our experience with Goat Simulator 3, it appears there is no option to play with friends on other platforms, meaning you will be stuck to your own console or PC. Whether this is a feature that will be added eventually remains to be seen, but at the time of writing, it’s currently not an option.
