How to break yellow cracks
You'll need to progress through the game until you reach Chapter 10, titled 'Forging Destiny' before you can break through yellow cracks in God of War Ragnarok. In this quest, Kratos and Brok return to Svartelheim to forge a brand-new weapon to defeat Heimdall, known as the Draupnir Spear.
This wind-powered explosive weapon is what Kratos can use to destroy the yellow cracks around the Nine Realms. When you see a collection of yellow cracks, aim the Draupnir Spear at them and fire. Then, detonate it to blow up the yellow cracks.
Some objects may have a collection of three yellow cracks to detonate all at once. If the cracks aren't breaking with one use of the Draupnir Spear, look around to find the others. Make sure you fire all three instances of the Spear before detonating them, as they must all be destroyed at the same time.
In addition, you can use the Draupnir Spear to reach new heights or jump across large gaps. If you see a small hole in a wall with steam coming out of it, you can fire the Draupnir Spear into it to create a platform to launch yourself from. Just make sure you fire it from the right angle to lodge it into the surface correctly.
The Draupnir Spear is impossible to miss since it's a huge part of the story. If you haven't obtained it yet, simply keep playing until you come across it.
There are plenty of places to use the Draupnir Spear in the endgame, so keep an eye out for those subtle yellow cracks!
