The God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla DLC was a surprise that adds a good chunk of content with its roguelike-inspired game mode.
If you want to continue Kratos' storyline, check out how to begin Valhalla.
How to start the Valhalla DLC
When you launch the game, there will be a Valhalla option highlighted on the main menu.
Select the mode and you will launch straight into it. There are a couple of things to keep in mind before you do, however.
First of all, Valhalla takes place after the events of the main game. If you have not played Ragnarok all the way through, you will encounter some major spoilers from the get-go in Valhalla. The game will warn you of this, so be sure you finish the story before starting Valhalla.
Other than spoilers, there is nothing stopping you from starting Valhalla whenever you wish. The mode does not carry over any progress from the main game; your stats, armour and upgrades are separate. You start from scratch regardless, so feel free to jump into Valhalla whenever you like.
