Revealed by a Sony State of Play, it turns out God of War Ragnarok is finally coming to PC and its release date is much sooner than you'd think.
After waiting for nearly two years since the game's original release on PS5 and PS4, the PC port for GoW Ragnarok has some sweet extra features expected of the platform too. So, let's get into everything there is to know so far.
When is God of War Ragnarok coming to PC?
The release date for God of War Ragnarok coming to PC is Thursday, September 19, 2024, on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Although there are still some months to go at the time of writing, PC gamers can look forward to some of the usual technical bells and whistles we love to see in new ports of formerly console exclusives.
God of War Ragnarok's PC features
Ahead of the port's September launch, here are all of the features you can enjoy for GoW Ragnarok on PC, as detailed in the State of Play reveal trailer and later a PlayStation blog post:
- Unlocked framerates
- 4k resolution
- Super ultra-widescreen (32:9) & widescreen (21:9) monitor support
- NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 compatibility
- AMD FSR 3.1 compatibility
- Intel Xess 1.3 compatibility
- Valhalla DLC included
- Risen Snow Armor & Tunic set with pre-purchases
Along with being able to achieve higher graphics settings thanks to full integration with the NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel systems, getting the Valhalla DLC included means you can play ultra-widescreen God of War Ragnarok with the game's complete package.
Released in late 2023, the Valhalla DLC not only served as a fun DLC slice of rouge-lite-inspired gameplay but became a poignant end to the Norse saga in Kratos' journey too.
For PC players who've managed to stay spoiler-free when it comes to God of War Ragnarok, being able to experience the entirety of the story with no delay will be quite a treat.
