It's taken two years for the second part of Kratos and Atreus' journey to arrive on PC, but the God of War Ragnarok release time is almost upon us. As of September 19, 2024, players can relive the adventure through the nine realms in resolutions and framerates previously impossible on PlayStation hardware alone.

If you're as much of a God of War Ragnarok fan as we are (we gave the game a perfect score in our review), then here's the exact release time for the game in each time zone.

All God of War Ragnarok release times

Timezone Release Time
PDT 08:00 AM
EDT 11:000 AM
BRT 12:00 PM
BST 16:00 PM
CET 17:00 PM
SAST 18:00 PM
IST 20:30 PM
MYT 23:00 PM
JST 00:00 AM (September 20)
AEST 01:00 (September 20)

As you can see, the game will have a simultaneous global launch. This means that the game will launch in all regions at the same time, so no one will be able to play the game earlier than anyone else in the world.

Unfortunately, this means that you won't be able to use the New Zealand trick that gamers often like to use to get access to video games early. We'll all have to wait patiently until Sony Santa Monica opens the floodgates for everyone at the same time.

Pre-load information

God of War Ragnarok running on PC

Coming in at a frankly stupid size of 190GB of storage space, it makes sense to preload God of War Ragnarok if you're able to.

Thankfully, if you're reading this, you can already preload the game. Sony released the preload files 48 hours before the game is set to launch, so if you go to your platform of choice and have already pre-ordered the game, you should be able to start downloading the files now.

Just be aware that, while the game is set to launch at the stated times above, you'll likely still need to download a few extra files that unlock the game for you to play. With so many players vying to play the same game all at once, the Steam and Epic Games servers often take a hit.

So, while God of War Ragnarok is set to release at the same time for everyone, allow an extra half an hour to an hour for the final files to download before jumping into the game properly.
