It's hard to believe the sequel to God of War (2018) is nearly out and ready to play. While those who have physically pre-ordered the game will have to wait to recieve their copy and install it on launch day, those who have placed digital pre-orders on the PlayStation store will be able to pre-install the game, so that it's ready to play as soon as Sony unlocks the game. So, let's get into the God of War Ragnarok release time for when you can start playing.

What Is the God of War Ragnarok Release Time?

God of War Ragnarok will release at midnight on Wednesday, 9 November, 2022 respectively in each territory. To clarify, that means on the evening of Tuesday, 8 November - as the clock strikes midnight into Wednesday the 9th - God of War Ragnarok will be officially out, and the game will unlock for those who have pre-installed it.

While a launch time of midnight across the board of all territories makes for a more organised, uniform release with less room for error, it does mean that some countries will be getting to play God of War Ragnarok earlier than others. For example, New Zealand's time difference is thirteen hours ahead of the UK (GMT) and twenty-one hours ahead of the US' Pacific Time - meaning some players will be getting up to almost a day's head start compared to others.

Of course, some PlayStation owners might be thinking of changing their region to New Zealand to get around this. However, PlayStation's structure has made it so you would have to create an entirely new PlayStation account set in New Zealand to make it work. Whether that massive hassle and isolating God of War Raganrok form the rest of your PSN profile is entirely up to you of course - but the game will surely be more than worth the wait to simply play it on your regular account.

That's everything you need to know about the God of War Ragnarok release time! In the meantime, why not check out the PS5 upgrade for God of War 2018? Or take a look at the best armour for New Game Plus
