The God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla DLC gives players a roguelike story mode to play and experience the final arc of Kratos' current story. As players familiar with roguelikes will know, you can't typically save whenever, meaning you need to do it in specific spots.
How to save your progress in Valhalla
You can save your progress in the God of War: Ragnarok Valhalla DLC at a Tablet of Endeavor. These are located throughout Valhalla, generally with one in each realm you visit.
When you find a Tablet of Endeavor, simply approach it, and you'll see the option to suspend your game by pressing Square. This will temporarily save your progress in Valhalla, and you can safely exit the game through it.
When you restart the game, then you'll be starting from where you suspended your progress.
However, if you die, then you'll be taken back to The Shores of Valhalla once again and start all over.
That is why before you suspend your progress, make sure you stack up enough health, Rage and abilities to make it to the next location. As such, you'll have to be very smart and careful when facing tough enemies and bosses, as death will mean starting over once again.
