Hardspace Shipbreaker Ships: All Ship Types
There are four main ship classes, which come in several variations and grades each. A ship's grade refers to its value and the difficulty salvaging it poses, with it scaling from one to twenty. You must meet specific Certifications Ranks before you can begin to salvage higher grade ships, and the different grades typically introduce new hazards and objectives, such as the Hardspace Shipbreaker ECU in Class II ships. The list of ships is:
Mackerel
The Mackerel is the smallest class of ship in the game and is used as the tutorial ship for players to learn the basics of shipbreaking. They can have configurations for each of the twenty grades, which add more hazards and systems to them. There are four variants of the Mackerel, which are:
- Light Cargo
- Station Hopper
- Exolab
- Heavy Cargo
Javelin
The Javelin is a larger vessel which is considerably longer than the Mackerel, and is typically used for carrying heavy loads or fuel. It's the second ship that you will come to encounter in the game's campaign. The lowest Javelin ship grade is four, although it scales to twenty, comes with all the potential hazards, and can have a Class I or II reactor. There are two variants of the Javelin, but each one comes in three different sizes:
- Refueling
- Heavy Cargo
Gecko
The Gecko is a Class II reactor ship that is used as an interplanetary vessel, and while it was one of the original ships in the early access with the Mackerel, players can now only access it after the Javelin in the campaign. The Gecko ranges from the ship grades of ten and twenty, meaning they always contain some of the most dangerous hazards. There are four variations of the Gecko. These are:
- Station Hopper
- Heavy Cargo
- Stargazer
- Salvage Runner
Atlas
The Atlas class ships are the largest and often most complex of the game's vessels. It's used mostly for industrial purposes, leaving it with plenty of storage room and connecting systems. It's the last ship type you will access, but their ship grade can fall as low as three, topping out at 20. There are currently three variants of the Atlas, but each one is randomised in appearance, these are:
- Scout Patrol Craft
- Nomad Cargo Hauler
- Roustabout Tug
That's all for our breakdown of all the Hardspace Shipbreaker ships, and now you know a little about each ship class and what variants they can come in.
