Is Hecate in the SMITE 2 Alpha test?
Hecate is the first God coming exclusively to SMITE 2 due to being built specifically for Unreal Engine 5, but is she available to play in the alpha tests?
Curious if Hecate, the Greek Goddess of magic and witchcraft, will be playable in the SMITE 2 alpha test? While both the new and old versions of the game share most of their content, not everything will be backwards compatible.
Hecate is the first God announced so far as exclusive to the sequel, due to being built specifically for Unreal Engine 5. That said, does she appear in the early alpha tests?
Is Hecate in the alpha?
Unfortunately, Hecate does not appear in the first alpha weekend for SMITE 2. There has not been any concrete information about when she will be playable just yet, so it is difficult to estimate when she might appear.
The fact that Hecate has appeared so prominently in the SMITE 2 promotional materials does give the impression that she is coming soon, likely the first new God of the new game. That said, we could be waiting until the full 1.0 release of the game, or she could appear in the beta, or sooner.
At this point, it doesn't seem likely that she will appear in any of the alpha tests, but we don't know that for sure. The original SMITE spent quite a while in beta and saw many additions during that time, so there is precedent to suggest she might be made available during the beta, which is set to start later this year.
There has been some chatter online to suggest she could appear in the beta, but nothing has been confirmed by the developer.
That is it for what we know about Hecate and when she might be available. For more, head to our SMITE 2 homepage where we have guides on the Founder's Editons, alpha weekends, Ascension Passes, and all Gods & patch notes for the first alpha weekend.
