If you're on an Operation to liberate a planet controlled by the deadly Automatons in Helldivers 2, you may get tasked with blowing up Fuel and Ammo reserves. It's not straightforward how you do this though, so here's everything you need to know.
Destroying Fuel & Ammo reserves
To achieve your goal of blowing up Fuel and Ammo reserves, you'll need to call in the Hellbomb Stratagem, which can only be used contextually as part of these objectives. You can find it pictured below.
After getting close to one of the bases that need to be destroyed, you should get a bark over the radio saying something like "sub-objective near your location". After you hear this, bring up your Stratagems, and you should see the Hellbomb there.
Ensure you throw it into the middle of the area that needs to be destroyed, as if it's on the outside, the blast may be blocked by the walls surrounding the Automaton base. You should try to clear the base first, but these are usually only manned by a few enemies at a time.
After the Hellbomb has landed, you'll need to interact with it and complete a button combo to activate it.
Once it's activated and you hear the wind-up noise, I recommend sprinting in the opposite direction very quickly, as my friends and I have learned the hard way that Hellbombs have large a radius (that doesn't discriminate in who they turn into paste).
If you do everything right, the bomb should blow up all the fuel or ammo reserves in the area, and you'll get an "Objective Completed" notification on the screen.
Typically, these missions require you to blow up two or three of these bases across the map, so just rinse and repeat this method to complete your objectives and extract in time.
