Patch 1.000.100 for Helldivers 2 is considered a minor update, but it's caused a lot of commotion in the community thanks to its buffs and nerfs. Check out what they are.

All Patch 1.000.100 buffs

A number of weapons have been buffed with the 1.000.100 patch, giving you a better variety to choose from on missions. Here's everything that gained a buff:

Weapons

  • Flamethrower - Increased damage per second
  • Laser Cannon - Increased damage against durable enemy parts, armour penetrations, and better ergonomics
  • Punisher - Increased ammo capacity, stagger force, and damage per bullet
  • Breaker Spray & Pray - Increased armour penetration, fire rate, and number of pellets per shot

Stratagems

  • 380mm and 120mm Orbital Barrages - Increased duration and decreased spread

Misc

  • The Eradicate missions are buffed to be harder, with more enemies and more frequent spawns
  • The armour ratings bug has been fixed, meaning all Heavy Armours are automatically buffed to their intended effect
  • The flashlight is more useful
  • Visibility has been improved overall due to more balanced lightning on planets that are darker

All 01.000.100 nerfs

There are also some painful nerfs here, with the Railgun being the most notable, as we can no longer four shot Chargers by default.

Weapons

  • Breaker - Decreased magazine capacity and increased recoil
  • Railgun - Decreased armour penetration on Safe Mode, and decreased damage against durable enemy parts
  • Breaker Spray & Pray - Decreased magazine capacity

Stratagems

  • Energy Shield Backpack - Increased delay before recharging

How do these changes impact the meta?

Firstly, the Railgun changes have made it a less viable option for dealing with armoured enemies. It can still be used on the Unsafe Mode, but this will use more ammo overall. Due to the Energy Shield Backpack nerfs too, the combo of these two items will likely become less common in higher-level games.

On the flip side though, a meta change can see new heroes rise to the top, and right now that seems to be the Flamethrower. I've been using it a lot since the buffs, and it's become the best way for dealing with Chargers now the Railgun is less effective.

The 380mm and 120mm Orbital Barrages are also a bit more useful for enemy bases and big groups, as the spread makes the explosions far more concentrated. I'd expect to see more players with this Stratagem now.

Finally, you may see more cases of players using Heavy Armour now the armour values have been fixed. While it's still the worst armour type due to the speed and stamina values, the extra protection will work well for some builds and team compositions.
