How start the quest
In order to begin this quest, a few prerequisites need to be done to obtain it: First of all, make sure you have completed the main quest mission, The Helm of Urtkot. Additionally, also make sure you are level 23.
Finally, you also need to make sure you have Alohamora upgraded to level 3, as this will be needed to unlock certain doors in Cursed Tomb Treasure. Once you have all of these objectives complete, you will be able to start the quest.
Steps to complete the Cursed Tomb Treasure in Hogwarts Legacy
To begin this quest, you want to look at the most southern area of the map in Hogwarts Legacy. It’s right near the bottom and is called Cursed Tomb Treasure when highlighted.
Your first objective is to open the locked chest under the old manor in Manor Glen. You can do this by using the side entrance which takes you below. Continue forward until you reach a level 3 lock and use Alohamora to open it.
Make sure you’re prepared for a fight, as this manor is also home to some fairly strong enemies that can easily overwhelm you given the chance.
Eventually, after fighting your way through enemies, you will reach a chest. Open it to reveal its contents, which appear as a sketch with clues to your next location. This is where things become a bit tricky, as you need to decipher the markings in order to move on to the next objective in Cursed Tomb Treasure.
The clue is pointing you toward the Tomb of Treachery, which can be found north on the map. If you’re struggling to find the exact location in Hogwarts Legacy, here is precisely where you need to go:
Travel to this location and enter to continue the Cursed Tomb Treasure quest. You will find an open room with a coffin residing in the middle when you enter. From this point, go to the left and use Incendio on the spider web to advance. Eventually, you will reach a room with a butterfly door blocking your path.
To open it, you need to cast Incendio on three butterflies that are trapped around the room, and then use Lumos to lead them to the door. Here is where you can find them:
- Right of the door trapped in a web.
- Roaming freely to the right side of the door.
- Left of the door. Use Incendio to release a trapped block, before using Wingardium Levioso to move it around. Climb on top of the block to find the third and final butterfly.
With all three butterflies found, the door will open and you can advance forward. Your next puzzle will see you needing to fire Flipendo on the tiles on the floor. You need to hit the correct ones, which are the middle block in the top row and the two bottom corner tiles.
After this has been done, a chest will finally emerge which you can search for. Do so, and you will receive a reward, along with the Cursed Tomb Treasure quest finally being marked as complete.
