Does Hogwarts Legacy Have An Open World?
Hogwarts Legacy will indeed have an open world to discover when the game releases on February 10. You'll be able to run around Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmeade, and the grounds. Unfortunately, that doesn't include playing Quidditch. Maybe a possible sequel could feature the proclaimed mythical sport.
"Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world, action role-playing game set in the 1800s wizarding world, which puts players at the centre of their own adventure," describes WB Games in its Q&A for the game. We'll be able to meet completely new characters alongside some legendary ghosts like Nearly Headless Nick in Hogwarts Legacy.
We know there will be a ton of detail in Hogwarts Legacy as Avalanche Software has done an excellent job of bringing properties like Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars to Disney Universe.
As we explore the world of Hogwarts Legacy, we'll be seeing all manner of mythical beasts. It will be up to us to figure out how to tame them and possibly fly around the world. Getting on a hippogriff in game form certainly sounds exciting.
With the game being open-world, however, some have been worried about the status of the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions. They have just been given later release dates on April 4 and July 25. That's quite the jump from their initial February 10 timeframe, so hopefully, Avalanche Software can make the open world of Hogwarts Legacy work on weaker hardware.
