The Honkai: Star Rail Pity system goes a long way to make sure you aren't always disappointed. Honkai: Star Rail has many characters and items that you can acquire from Warp Banners, but what you get is randomised. The Pity system exists to ensure you don't play the game for too long without getting a powerful reward. Here is everything you need to know about the Honkai: Star Rail Pity system.

What is the Honkai: Star Rail Pity system?

Generally speaking, the Pity system exists to make sure that you will eventually get something important if you invest a lot of money. Each banner has a very slim chance to give you a 4 or 5-star reward, and without the Pity system, you might never see any of them.

The idea is, the more you invest, the higher the chance that you will receive a valuable reward. This works differently for different banners, but the gist of it is the same. The more you put in, the better your chances are that you will get the thing that you want.

How the Pity system works

The Pity system works differently depending on which banner you are pulling from. The Stellar Warp is the permanently available banner and has a specific Pity system. You are guaranteed to get a 4-star reward or better from every ten pulls, and also a 5-star reward from every ninety pulls. You could get either a lot sooner, but as you reach those thresholds, the chances of getting a 4 or 5-star drop drastically go up.

Event Warps work differently from this. They also guarantee powerful rewards after a certain amount of pulls, but they also have a 50-50 system. This system makes it so you have a 50% chance of receiving the featured character or Light Cone when you get a 5-star pull. However, if you do not get it first try, you are guaranteed to get it on your second 5-star pull.

That is it for the Honkai: Star Rail Pity system. For more on the game, check out our Honkai: Star Rail character guide.
