In Honkai: Star Rail, there is an assortment of challenges for the Trailblazers to face. Some are easier than others. But some of the more difficult challenges players will face are the Stagnant Shadows littered throughout the game.

What are Stagnant Shadows?

Essentially, Stagnant Shadows are more challenges for you to take on. Completing these challenges will net you unique materials used for Character Ascension. But it won’t be easy.

The Stagnant Shadows work as a gauntlet of sorts, where you’ll be facing off against incredibly tough enemies. But, it is a case of high risk high reward. So before entering, you should make sure your party is well-equipped and ready for a fight.

There are nine Stagnant Shadows to defeat in Honkai Star Rail. Here, we’ve broken down where they are located and what they drop upon defeat:

How do you unlock Stagnant Shadows?

While the Stagnant Shadows are present throughout the game, you won’t be able to take them on until you reach Trailblazer level 30, so don’t worry too much about missing them early on.

You’ll also need to complete the Trial of the Equilibrium: Part Two mission to get your Equilibrium Level up to 3. Once those requirements have been made, you’re free to face the Stagnant Shadows. If you feel prepared, that is.
