House Of Ashes Save Joey: How To Keep Joey Alive
Wondering how the House of Ashes save Joey decision works? We've got some bad news for you.
The House of Ashes save Joey decision is something that is absolutely stumping players everywhere, because it seems like no matter what you do, Joey meets his end during an ambush. Saving Joey in The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is by no means necessary - heck, ending the full game with only one person alive is still a way to reach the end - but ideally you'll do it without anyone losing their life. This guide on the House of Ashes save Joey decision has everything you need to know.
Joey is another U.S. Marine working alongside the main characters Rachel, Eric, Nick, and Jason. He’s rather timid and makes a lot of jokes, and from the outset, he is coined as one of the more likeable characters. If you can ignore his very annoying whistling, that is. Can you save Joey from death in House of Ashes however?

House Of Ashes Save Joey: Is It Possible?
Prior to The Ambush, Eric must decide if he will take air support or not. Then, during The Ambush, a quick-time event (QTE) must be completed while Joey remains injured amidst the gunfight. Regardless of whether Eric brings in air support or not, and whether players miss the QTE or not, Joey still has a rather unfortunate and quick ending.
As much as we wish we could’ve done, the destitute outcome for Joey is that he sadly will end up dying regardless of whatever decisions players may make. That’s the issue of being a side character, we guess. Much like his other male counterpart, Merwin, there is sadly no saving either character once things in House of Ashes begin to take a dark turn. While it is likely that little sadness is shared when Merwin dies, considering how blatantly rude he was every time he opened his mouth, there was a youthfulness about Joey that will undoubtedly make players unhappy.
That being said, there are five main characters players must focus on saving - Rachel, Eric, Nick, Jason, and Salim. Making an effort to save these characters will definitely keep players distracted from the likes of Joey. Without spoiling much, it may not be the last you see of Joey either... but there truly is no saving him.
