How Long Is Dying Light 2: 100% Completion
Developers Techland tweeted about the Dying Light 2 length, and it left some fans a little conflicted. Techland made the bold statement that Dying Light 2 would take 500 hours to "fully complete", and even went as far to make a comparison to walking from Warsaw to Madrid - a task that takes just 34 hours longer.
The first Dying Light, which was released in 2015, was a big game, but nowhere near the size of this one, even with its DLC The Following added on. Dying Light 2 is so massive in fact, that an interview from PCGamesN explained that a single playthrough of the game would still miss out around 50% of it. This proved to be incredibly divisive among fans, who argued over the merit of the game's enormity.
How Long Is Dying Light 2: Campaign And Side Missions
After the critical reception of how long Dying Light 2 is, Techland posted once more for clarification. It claimed that while the game would take 500 hours to max out, players could play through the campaign, with a tonne of side content and exploring, all under 100 hours.
This is still an incredibly long time, but much more manageable as long as you don't plan on hunting for the platinum trophy.

How Long Is Dying Light 2: Campaign Only
Now the game is here, we can confirm that you don't need anywhere near 500 hours to finish Dying Light 2. If you plan on blitzing through the main story quests, it should take roughly 30 hours of playtime, with an extra 30 or so hours for various side missions and collectibles. It will take well over 100 hours for players who want to 100% complete the game during a single playthrough though, as there is plenty to find around Villedor.
It's clear where the 500 hours claim came from too. If you want to experience the outcomes of all the possible choices, along with getting every single ending state of the game, it could well take up to 500 hours or more.
