How to evolve Dipplin & get Hydrapple in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
If you're looking for the method to evolve Dipplin into Hydrapple in the new Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you've come to the right place.
Hydrapple is the brand new evolution for Dipplin in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This guide will explain how to obtain Hydrapple and evolve your Dipplin in the new Indigo Disk DLC.
I was surprised to see that Dipplin has its own evolution in The Indigo Disk. Dipplin is one of three evolutions for Applin, but the other two (Flapple and Appletun) don't have their own evolutions, making Dipplin a unique case.
This guide will show you exactly what you need to do to evolve Dipplin into Hydrapple in the game, so read on.
How to evolve Dipplin into Hydrapple
Before you can get Hydrapple you'll need to evolve Applin into Dipplin using a Syrupy Apple. if you've already got one you can skip this step, but if not you'll need to buy a Syrupy Apple from Mossfell Confluence in Kitakami and use that to evolve Applin.
When you have Dipplin, progress through the Indigo Disk storyline until you're able to challenge the new Elite Four in the Terarium. Then, head to the top left of the map and challenge Drayton. You'll need to beat him to get Dipplin's evolution item.
Before you can beat Drayton, you'll need to finish his trial first. This requires you to use a team of Pokemon caught inside the Terarium.
Once you've done that, challenge Drayton and win to receive the Dragon Cheer TM. You can then teach Dipplin Dragon Cheer and level it up once to trigger the evolution into Hydrapple.
Hydrapple abilities, moves & more
Hydrapple is a Grass/Dragon type with three abilities - Supersweet Syrup, Regenerator or Sticky Hold. Its name refers to the Hydra, a serpentine creature with multiple heads.
It also learns the unique move Fickle Beam. This is a Dragon type move that has a 30% chance to double its power from 80 to 160. When it does, Hydrapple will shoot the beam with all its heads at once.
