After you've created your very own world in LEGO Fortnite and added a few buildings, it's time to upgrade your village so more NPCs can move in to live there.
Whether you're playing Survival or Sandbox mode, you may have noticed a notification telling you that you can upgrade your village in the game. If you're not sure how to do that, we've got a simple guide with everything you need to know right here.
How to upgrade a village in LEGO Fortnite
To upgrade your village, you simply need to approach your Village Square utility and interact with it. A menu will appear that tells you what resources (like Wood or Granite) you need to gather before you can purchase the upgrade.
As well as resources, you'll also need to reach a specific Village Rating before you can unlock each upgrade. You can increase your Village Rating by crafting new buildings or utilities. Essentially, the more you grow your village, the higher your rating will be.
You can track your current Village Rating with the number and the yellow bar at the top right corner of the screen. Once this bar is full, your Village Square will glow, indicating that a new upgrade is available.
What do you get for upgrading your village?
The main reason to upgrade your village is to increase your village capacity so more NPCs can move in. Once you hit the fifth upgrade, 'rare explorers' will even come to visit your village. You can get any of these NPCs to move in by assigning them a bed.
Upgrading your village also unlocks the ability to send your villagers out to forage for food or resources. Finally, there are perks like Well Rested which means villagers will gain bonus health and defence, or Gifts Galore which means villagers can gift you new recipes.
