Many fans will be wondering if Immortals of Aveum will feature an open world. The new game from EA is unusual as we don’t often see a fresh IP hit the digital shelves. Anytime we get a completely new game is an exciting prospect - and Immortals of Aveum is no different.

Although this is an original title, we still know plenty of details due to the game arriving so soon. This magical first-person shooter is a narrative-focused game that follows the protagonist Jak as he becomes a battlemage in an attempt to save the world. So let’s find out if Immortals of Aveum has an open world, or if we can expect a more linear experience.

Will Immortal of Aveum have an open world?

The world of Immortals of Aveum

Immortals of Aveum will not feature an open world. However, there will be large sections of the game available for players to explore, so it isn't completely linear. In the technical deep dive on EA’s website the game's Chief Technology Officer Mark Maratea said, “We have a big variety of level sizes - some that are large and open-ended and others that are more focused.

"A couple of our levels are the equivalent of 25 or 30 kilometres in length! That’s just the playable space! To be clear, we’re not an open-world game though. We love to play those games, but it doesn't fit the vision we have or the story we want to tell.”

That’s all there is to know about the world of Immortals of Aveum, and although there won’t be an open world, it sounds like there will still be plenty to explore throughout the game's story.
