Does Last Epoch have co-op or PvP? Multiplayer explained
ARPGs like Last Epoch are fun to play solo, but they're great with friends, too. This primer details co-op and PvP in Last Epoch, so you'll know what sort of online play you can expect.
Playing Last Epoch alone is a blast, but everyone knows games are better with friends! For many gamers, co-op and PvP are deciding factors in whether or not they're willing to commit to a new title. So, is there multiplayer in the hack-and-slash action role-playing game by Eleventh Hour Games?
Does Last Epoch have co-op?
Yes, you can play co-op in Last Epoch! As long as you select Play Online from the main menu, you can engage in cooperative multiplayer.
Unfortunately, local co-op isn't supported in Last Epoch.
To create a party and play with friends, open the Social Panel and send out invitations, or simply use Friends & Chat on Steam to deliver your invites. Alternatively, you can bolster your group by right-clicking the names of players in chat or right-clicking a player in a Town Hub or elsewhere in the World.
You can battle baddies with up to three others in Last Epoch. Once you're all in a party together, interact with anyone's player card in the top-left corner of the HUD to open a portal to wherever they are in Eterra.
What about PvP?
No, Last Epoch does not offer PvP - at least not yet. However, Eleventh Hour Games plans to add PvP in the future.
When PvP finally does launch, you'll be able to participate in Duels, 2v2, 3v3, 5v5, and Free for All battles. PvP will take place in an arena called the Time-Lost Colosseum and feature both Ladders and Rankings. Top-ranking participants will get exclusive cosmetics for their efforts!
Multiplayer is still relatively fresh in Last Epoch, so there are still improvements to be made and more to come from Eleventh Hour Games. For example, the new faction, the Merchant's Guild, allows players to trade with one another, and the developers have already announced that they are considering Player Housing!
That's the basics of multiplayer in Last Epoch. The next time you boot up Last Epoch, bring a few friends with you and dive into all the brand-new content in Season 1.
