In short, yes, you can play League of Legends on a Mac. Initially, when the popular MOBA launched in 2009, the developers at Riot Games released League of Legends as a Microsoft Windows exclusive.
As of 2013, however, Riot unveiled a Mac version of League of Legends that is also constantly receiving updates.

How to download League of Legends on a Mac
Downloading League of Legends on a Mac is quite simple. Just like downloading the game on a PC, you can visit the official League of Legends website and follow these steps:
- First, visit the official League of Legends website here
- After that, players who don’t have a League of Legends account will want to create an account. Those who already have a League of Legends account can just click on “already got an account”
- From there, find the Download Mac Installer just below the blue “Download for Windows” button
- That’s it! Once the file is done downloading, open it up and continue with the prompts
